Welcome to Language & Leisure International At Language and Leisure we believe that by creating
a warm family atmosphere, learning English can be fun. Since 1989,
parents and teachers have been sending their children to our courses
knowing that their English will improve, that they will grow in
confidence and maturity, make new friends from over the world and
have an unforgettable experience.
Holy Child Summer School is aimed at 12-18 year olds and offers 15 hours language lessons per week with an exciting social and cultural programme in a friendly international environment. We place students in different classes according to level and age. As Director of Studies, I ensure that the teaching
is of the highest standards and that lessons meet the real needs
of young learners. Our course addresses the four language skills:
speaking, listening, reading and writing. Importance is also given
to grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. We take into account different
learning styles and use a wide range of communicative approaches
including task-based learning and project work.
I have selected each of our host families personally.
Many of them have been hosting students for Language and Leisure
for over 10 years. They know how important it is to provide students
a home away from home. They take their responsibility very seriously.
They host students because they have a genuine interest in people
and they love to talk and to learn about other cultures. They regard
the experience of meeting foreign people as important for their
own children.
Each aspect of the leisure programme is seen supervised
by me. Over the years we have developed a fine balance between fun
and cultural activities. For every visit to a gallery or museum
there is a sport or dance activity.
We look forward to welcoming, teaching and building long-lasting relationships with our students. Many of them come back to us year after year. Some even go on to work with us as young adult monitors. Language and Leisure offers a very personal service.
