Six reasons to come to Language and Leisure and improve your English

We asked our students and this is what they said…

1.      The Host Families

“I really loved to know my host family, they were really nice and I had the best opportunity to talk English with them”

“My host family was excellent! It was when I spent my Sunday with my host family that I had the best time.”

2.      The Classes

“The classes are very interesting and fun, we play a lot of games and learn a lot.”

“Good teachers, I learned more in two weeks than in one school year.”

3.      The Activities

“I think that the activities have been the best part of my time here with Language and Leisure, because they are so organised and funny, the afternoon and evening activities have been very good and I've really enjoyed.”

“I like all. It's very funny. I didn’t find any activities that I didn't like.”

4.      Meeting people from other countries

“I loved meeting new friends every week and almost every day, from different nationalities and with a lot of things to teach me.”

“We meet a lot of people from other countries and we can enjoy and learn with them.”

“What I liked best about my time with Language and Leisure was meeting a lot of people of different countries and making a lot of friends.”

5.      The Language and Leisure team

“I like very much this type of experience; the staff were very friendly and happy.”

“The staff, I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the school and during the activities. Everyone was happy to do what they were doing.”

“I liked best that every teacher was friendly to me and helped me to improve my English.”

6.      Everything!

“These three weeks were the best experience I have ever had.   I improved a lot my English in all the ways and spoke a lot.  I enjoyed my teachers, the activities the full day excursions and of course the school.  I had a wonderful host family and I am gonna miss them a lot.  If next year I can come again I'm sure that I am going to do it.  Thank you for all.”

“I really like these 2 weeks in LAL school and this trip, I discovered lots of things like local sports , Irish food , and a culture . Ireland is a very beautiful country with lots of things to discover. I really like this travel.”

“I liked meeting people from different parts of the world. I enjoyed all the activities and I think that everyone should do this experience once at least.”

Book now for next summer!

Thank You

Another summer season is over and we are delighted that everything went so well (in spite of the weather). We were happy to welcome students this year from Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Taiwan. The blog was a great success and so was the selfie competition. Congratulations to all our Students of the Week and competition winners. Keep practising your as much as you can. Remember to watch movies in English with subtitles if necessary. Best wishes for the new academic year. Let's keep in touch!

Summer School 2012

A great big Thank You to everyone who helped make this year's summer school such a great success. We were delighted to have students from Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, Russia and Taiwan. It was great to see so many students coming back to Language and Leisure for a second or even third year. Well done to all the teachers and leisure staff who did such a great job. We wish all the best to students in their studies. Join our facebook page, keep in touch and take every opportunity to practise your English. All the best, Andrew

The Little Museum of Dublin

We are really excited about this great new attraction. The history of Dublin comes to life at this "excellent new museum" (Rough Guide). From U2 to JFK, the real Dublin – and some of its most famous visitors – is revealed in its "must-see collection" (TripAdvisor). It is housed in a beautiful Georgian townhouse on St Stephen's Green, just two minutes' walk from Grafton Street. You will enjoy discovering the remarkable story of 20th century Dublin decade by decade. http://www.littlemuseum.ie/

Dublin City of Science 2012

Here's another great reason to come to Dublin this year. Dublin has been chosen to host Europe’s largest science conference, ESOF 2012 (Euroscience Open Forum), from 11-15 July, 2012. To celebrate this prestigious, international event in Dublin, the City of Science 2012, an innovative science themed festival will run throughout the year across the island of Ireland combining the best of Irish culture, arts and science. http://www.dublinscience2012.ie/

Summer School 2011

Thanks to all students, teachers and families for making our summer school 2011 so successful. We were delighted to welcome students from Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Austria and Taiwan. It was great to have so many teachers come back and also to meet new teachers. We were sad that Sean Clerkin who taught us the dances at the ceilis for so many years had passed away in April. May he rest in peace. Delighted that Stacia continued coming every Wednesday. The Sally Noggin, the new disco venue, was a great success. David took over helping students make their T shirts and did a great job. Martha (& Josh) were the new canteen managers and were both wonderful. The weather was the usual mix of sunshine and rain but the excursions were most enjoyable. Best wishes to all students. Remember: keep speaking English! See you next year!!
